I am a keen amateur photographer, with a passion for Bhutan. I fell in love with the country on my first visit in 2010. Since then, I have returned annually (until the onset of Covid) to lead small group trips, with a focus on trekking and raising funds for a girls' education program in Bhutan, supported by the Australian Himalayan Foundation ("AHF").
On each of my trips to Bhutan, I have spent time in remote schools, many of which are closed for several months of the year, when snow blocks the passes. I have also met regularly with the AHF's in-country partner organisation RENEW (which stands for Respect, Educate, Nurture and Empower Women) and with students supported by the AHF/RENEW scholarship program.
I can't wait to return to Bhutan when international travel resumes.
